Our market leading company is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commercial Support Manager to support the Retail & E-Commerce team in the delivery of profitable and sustainable growth, through business and market analysis, helping launch new products, and understanding customer data to drive continuous improvements in quality, service, product range and customer experience, ultimately driving sales.
You will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a targeted commercial strategy to drive business opportunities across our retail and e-commerce accounts, as well as working on specific customer projects that reinforces our strategic sales plan.
We are seeking a dynamic, customer focussed, commercially aware, Commercial/Sales Support Manager with experience working within a manufacturing / retail / e-commerce environment. You will bring your previous sales/business analysis skills and have the potential to develop further your category management skills, with the aim of eventually managing your own portfolio of accounts.

  • Generate timely sales and promotional analysis, weekly reports to share insights with the Retail & E-Commerce team and Director, monthly reports to feed into the Company Board Reports
  • Conduct market pricing reviews of products and categories to establish pricing and sales trends to feed into range review strategy
  •  Create customer specific range gap analysis in preparation for range reviews and new projects required by the business and our customers
  •  Develop an in depth understanding of key customer’s businesses, to ably support the team in any specific project requirements
  •  Prepare information to support the annual and interim budget and forecast reports, utilising this opportunity to develop your forecasting abilities.
  •  Monitor and manage Customer Reviews, enhancing the customer experience and positively increasing customer satisfaction
  •  Utilise the Customer Review insight to pro-actively feed into the Incidence Rates process to flag up potential issues
  •  Build your commercial awareness turning your Customer Review insight into new product proposals as part of the company New Product Development process, being part of a team that comes up with new and innovative product ideas
  • Support the company Digital Sales Strategy, optimising sales techniques on company websites and marketplaces both within the UK and Worldwide
  •  Manage the Online range plan and product life cycles within the company Digital portfolio to ensure timely withdrawal of under achieving lines and replacement with new innovative products
  •  Develop an understanding of digital / pureplay customers’ web portals to optimise sales opportunities and manage inventory levels, both UK and Worldwide
  •  Develop an understanding of Best Practise digital content to drive best in class customer communication resulting in increased sales and profitability
  •  Prepare and present new ideas, range proposals and photo quotes to selected customers to support the joint business plans as part of your commercial development

  • Experience of working in either a retail / e-commerce / manufacturing sales environment (essential)
  •  Business / Retail / Marketing degree (desirable but not essential)
  • A driven self-starter who enjoys working to a deadline
  •  Sound commercial awareness who displays a good understanding of sales drivers in a Retail environment
  • Customer focussed with the ability to work cross-functionally
  •  A team player with strong interpersonal skills
  •  Numerate and articulate who is analytical, can prioritise effectively and multi-task and is detail orientated
  • PC literacy – use of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook (essential)
  •  Ability to Develop an understanding of the company’s product offer (essential)
  •  Technically savvy with an understanding of trading in an online environment (desirable)


Days of Work:           Monday to Friday

Hours of Work:          8.30am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4pm Friday

Leave Entitlement:    Annual leave is earned pro rata – 5 weeks per year
